Spam, Seriously?
Ever sift through all that junk mail and wonder if you are in the wrong line of work? Obviously the spam industry is working for somebody, or else it wouldn't still be running your inbox rampant with unsolicited junk, right? Spam is more than just a nuisance for small businesses. Hit the jump to find out why.
If you've checked your email today, you've probably already seen some junk mail (unless of course you have spam protection). We found an interesting statistic about spam that explains the bulk, in particular the common spam emails selling viagra.
It takes 12.5 million emails to sell $100 of viagra. Who would have guessed that anyone would get tricked into purchasing anything from spammy emails, but it looks like there is a tiny, tiny profit to be made; enough to keep spammers in business at least. Banks are now working to refuse to authorize payments to the increasingly dwindling number of banks that provide services to spammers. There may be hope yet, but that won't prevent the more malevolent spam that passes on malware or phishing attacks that trick you into handing your identity over. Spam can be a huge problem.
Fortunately, there are surefire ways to prevent spam that are cost effective and keep your inboxes safe (and improves the effectiveness of email communication!). If you are sick of sifting through junk mail, or worried that malware is getting into your network through email, give us a call and ask us what we can do to save you from spam.
